Garden Of Eden

Mele Kelikimaka! A late merry christmas to everyone! I've been absent over the last few days, spending way to much time adventuring, stumbling across isolated reef laced beaches, surfing crystal clear waters and drinking out of way too many fresh coconuts.  We're now on the luscious "garden isle" of  Kauai and yesterday Samdog and I took a road trip to the spectacular Waimea Canyon.  Never have I seen such magical diversity when one minute you're submerged in Pandora-like rainforest and the next on top of a canyon resembling something out of the midwest.    Sadly it was so windy in the canyon you couldn't even take a decent photo making for one sad little 'love sick cowgirl'... xx

Lovecat

Anja Konstantinova is not only one of my favourite Australian models but a babe to work with and recently I was lucky enough to style her in this editorial shot by my talented friend Sybil Steele for Lovecat Magazine.  Along with fellow stylist Marissa Sidoti and the rest of our incredible team we had an amazing day in Byron Bay working together and watching Anja do her thang.

Many of the pieces used in the shoot where personal items of Marissa's and mine and it's always surreal seeing your vintage jewels and pieces modelled on one of the coolest ladies around!

ALOHAAA!

HI! H..I that is for Hawaii!  Yes indeedy if you haven't been following me on twitter you might not have realised that I've been absent from the blogosphere for the last week because I am in Hawaii!  It also seems to be the way that when you're in Hawaii, actually to be more specific on the North Shore..Oahu you have to go by island time and blogging battles with surfing and eating for priority.  I've also had this really annoying issue with the fact that I keep taking so many photos every day that I didn't know where to start so this is just a taste tester of what's to come!

I also have to let you guys in on my main reason for coming to Hawaii, a secret that I've been keeping from you all for a looongg time.  This week is the launch of a collaboration that I've been working on with in my opinion one of the greatest surf lifestyle labels in the world, an institution that's played a major role in my life growing up as a surfer...non other than Billabong.  Woohoo!  So I can't wait to share with you guys the 'Oracle Fox for Billabong' capsule collection and the wicked campaign we shot with one of my favourite models around.  So stay tuned, run wild, run free.....xx mandy

A Date With Louis Vuitton

Sometimes....I have to pinch myself.  Amongst a sea of emails in my inbox this week was one with the subject description "Louis Vuitton" and I had to do a double take.  This weekend marked the opening of Louis Vuitton's 13th Maison store in George Street Sydney and myself along with some of my favourite Australian bloggers Studded Hearts, Gary Pepper Vintage, 4th & Bleeker and Zanita were lucky enough to attend.  

Global Chairman and Ceo of Louis Vuitton Yves Carcelle cut the ribbon to open the store along with the uber radiant(yes! even more so in real life) Kate Blanchett.  Among the luxury hand made leather goods, jewellery and best in Ready To Wear was the sculptured works of London artist Billie Achilleos.  Being an artist myself I fell in love with the collection of critters and if you're in the area they're definitely worth  a look.  If you're also in the mood for slipping down the face of a glassy green barrel on a shiny silver Louis Vuitton surfboard go no further, there's something in the maison for the fashion elite and lovers of fine things alike.
